Grand Deccan – Jai Sri Ram Sona Masoori Ris – 5 kg

Grand Deccan’s Sonamasuri rice (Jai Sriram) is very popular in the south of India. It has a rich taste, is healthy, and is one of the best qualities of sonamasuri.

Cooking method:

Rinse the rice thoroughly with water. Soak the rice in water for a few minutes and drain the water. Add the soaked rice to the pan. Add 2 cups water, salt to taste, and a splash of oil. The oil helps to overcome the water from boiling, which is caused by starch in the rice, and some people say that it also adds flavor.

Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, covered.
When it starts to boil, cover and lower the heat to low. Cook for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, remove the lid. If there is any excess water, let it boil off, fluff with a fork, and you are done.

MICROWAVE COOKING METHOD
Boil in a microwave-safe refractory dish or medium bowl; combine 1 cup rice, 2 cups water, and 1/2 tsp salt; microwave, covered, on high (power level 10) until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed, 18 to 20 minutes.
